Jax was busy weighing the situation in front of them, rather than a conversation that hadn't taken place yet. Should they toss the living quarters in the main building for valuables? No, there were likely relatives who would be interested in having such things back and that sort of thing amounted to petty thievery anyway. Mandalorians were not petty thieves, they were mercenaries who intended to get paid. But then again they'd failed at the job, so he wasn't going to get anything like what they'd agreed to out of the endeavor. Fuel for the Final Contract and the temporary movements of the Clan Xefern were at hand, that would break things about even.

The two assets that the colony should have had in spades would be fuel and food stuffs. That would be in the warehouse. "Four of you. Both scouts, one medic, and another. You're going to do a quick sweep of the main building, get me information and evidence. Anything the Jedi might have missed. Go." The three detailed specifically chose a fourth and piled through the fence from their three locations. Jax followed them through as he gave the next order. "The rest of us are going to secure the warehouse, our paychecks, as meager as they'll rightly be, are hopefully in there and it will be best if we have some good news when we give our SitRep."

His scouts handling other business, Jax put too of his standard shooters out front and went right behind them. They could acquire a target and shoot in the amount of time it would take him to get his barrels spinning, if they pinned the target down Jax could quickly remove its cover. They made straight for the warehouse as the shuttle kicked off from the courtyard with the Jedi on board. Jax already had an idea of what the Elders were going to say about it all, he'd been around long enough to be their go to for a lot of things in the realm of thought he was expecting. "Hettir." He called over a private channel. "I have a credit that says I'm going to be going bloodhound on this job."

Deciding that Jax's hole in the fence was more practical than creating his own (mostly because of the height), Hettir grinned as he slid through the gap without fear of catching any of his spikes on the metal mesh. His wristband blades retreated into hiding as he called over his shoulder- "If they missed anything, we'll pick it up."
He drew a happy smile across his helmet with the barrel of his blaster to show he was staying positive, before jogging to catch up with the others.

The jedi that had approached Jax for the negotiation had dropped from the upper level, but the movement Hettir had spotted earlier came from below. Sliding next to the door frame, he waited until the shuttle started to take its leave, and watched the scouts slide inside before following closely after.
"Heh... I'll throw in a box of treats for the ride, too."

The smell hit him first, his nose wrinkling, and he was forced to leave his conversation with Jax at that.
Massacre? Of fecal matter and animals maybe. Minding where he placed his boots, Hettir began picking his way to the far corner of the room; slowly sweeping his gaze across the floor, pens, support posts, and the walls. There was a common theme of ‘half-a-critter’ and dung, but he did come across one object that caught his eye.

"Hand check." He looked around for the other three with a chuckle, stopping to make eye contact with the medic. He motioned to the floor by his feet (where lay a hand) with a slight tip of his head. "Might want to come see this, Doc. You might be able to make more of it than I will."

While Jax's team headed for the storage warehouse, Hettir's team went straight for the building the Jedi team had just withdrawn from. They gained entry with the ease of an already open door that had been left by the auto cannon operator and the second Jedi. It didn't take twenty seconds of running their lights over the darkened interior before Hettir came up with the only real discovery to be made there. The medic moved up quickly and pulled off her armored gloves. Setting down her kit, opening it up, and pulling on a pair of latex gloves in the space of a couple of seconds before she made contact with the detached extremity.

"Duros, most likely. Could be Chiss but that's vastly less likely given location of find, shade of skin, and the bone structure. Rough sever but no saw marks, no stress. This was bitten off but not chewed, one clean snap. You can see where the bone splintered under the sudden sharp impact. Whatever did it has some serious bite power and very sharp teeth or beak. I'll bag it, get a little evidence to support our take on what happened here." She produced a plastic bag, placed the hand within, and pulled the strip on the self-sealer. Once sealed it all went into the box, the box closed, the latex gloves got dumped, and the leather gloves went back on.

Hettir moved aside so the medic had full access to study the severed hand. However he stayed close enough to lean over and watch her work; his fingers drumming on the bottom of his helmet.
He switched his internal comms to contact Jax. "Keep an eye out for something with incredible biting power.... something strong enough to bite right through bone as if it were a stick beneath your boot."

Frowning he straightened up and took another sweep of the room. Whatever it was clearly wasn't here anymore which disturbed him slightly. Hooray for surprises.
With the medic done her work, Hettir motioned to the upper floors. "Let's move."

The upper floors were almost as disappointing as the lower; messy and disastrous. The colonists here were corned, and by the looks of things would prefer to meet a firey end than anything else. More goop, which was now becoming less and less surprising to find, and evidence of a jedi break in.
The scouts disappeared through the opened doorway, and Hettir approached to provide cover fire should they need it. “Anything?” He called in to them, investigating the goop splatter along the wall with half interest.

The Mandalorians took possession of the colony after a tense negotiation on the surface and a short standoff in space. As per the terms of the agreement there was an information exchange.

From the Mandalorians
- The entire facility and some of the surrounding jungle was searched. No bodies, or parts of bodies, were discovered other than the hand with partial forearm of a Duros male and the partially eaten animals that had been brought in by the Colony itself.
- The bio matter, found in clear viscous pools in various locations within the main building, was also found in one standard (compared to the others) sized puddle in the flight hanger/motorpool, and also one massive puddle in the jungle about three kilometers away from the northern perimeter of the Colony's compound.
- The Colony's imported resources (equipment, food stuffs, spare parts, tools, etc.) were all present and accounted for, adjusted for normal shrinkage over time.
- There's no way to be certain, but it appears all personal possessions are undamaged unless said item produces an appreciable electronic signal. All electronics have been gutted.
- The Colony, when procuring the contract to bring the Mandalorian presence into the system, provided every scrap of data they had been able to get regarding the ship in question. This includes a gravimetric profile, a long distance and fuzzy image, and a computer generated silhouette.

From the Jedi/Rangers
- The bio matter was quickly and thoroughly tested. The results, amidst all the scientific information that only means something to other scientists, was exactly that. The liquified biochemical remains of some organism, the cell walls having inexplicably... failed.
- The full recording of the hypercom message from the Duros Jedi, including the enhanced image of the creature that attacked him.
- The recording of the scouting droid, telemetry from the Corroded Serpent's arrival in the system, and (for what good it would do them) a written report from each Jedi regarding their impressions in the Force all the way down to personal conclusions. It was all invaluable sensor data, including the Force impressions.
