The Right Price((Open))

They say Nal Hutta is where you go when you want certain purchases to be off the grid. Narcotics, weapons, even other sentients were for sale, if you had the right connections and the right amount of credits.

Dantes stood on the spaceport pad, surveying his surronding area. It was dim, and noisy. A fight broke out between two rival gangs near by, the sounds of blasterfire filling the smoggy air. Dantes cracked a smile, absorbing the dark emotions of the combatants as he passed. He pulled his hood up over his head. Normally, a hooded man with be watched with suspicion on most civilized worlds, but this world was different, and far from civil.

Extending his force aura outward, he probed passing minds for information. Instantly his mind was filled with names and locations, and he mentally organized them. His mission on this planet was simple; contract an army. Whispers filled his ears, telling him of several underground factories producing droids by the thousands.

Perfect, Dantes thought. An army of loyal drones.

He made his way to a freight elevator, slipping in behind a crate of processor chips, for slave collars most likely. How crude. He made a mental note of the collars, perhaps an idea to be explored down the road, when his... 'organization' was more established. He quietly took a single chip, carefully scanning it with his Force Sight. It was relatively simple technology, and cheap. But slave collars were highly illegal in most parts of the Galaxy. The last thing he needed was to be shut down before he even opened shop.

The elevator ride was a long one, descending into some of the deepest parts of Nal Hutta's undercity. It was darker down here, with a rotting stench permeating the air. The air itself felt as thick as gruel, and each breathe of air brought a rancid taste to his tongue. Dantes pulled his hood further over his eye sockets, and slid his blinder(head(eye?)band) over his nose and mouth. Breathing became a little easier, a little less vile, but the disgust never left him. He stepped out from the freight elevator, and began making his way through the rubbish-clogged streets of the undercity.

Nal Hutta wasn't one of Auren's favourite haunts, but it was a necessary evil in her line of work. The scum of the galaxy were drawn there like flies to druk, and, as such, it was an invaluable source of contacts for her, whether she liked it or not. And, even as she toyed with the idea of going straight, getting her own ship, sometimes, the jobs that could come her way on Nal Hutta were too good to turn down.

And, of course, sometimes that meant lying down with those who were even lower down the food chain than she was.

"You can stick your skroggin' job up your slimy ass," she yelled, making an obscene hand gesture before turning on her heel and stomping off towards the elevators. This job, it would appear, had been a dead end, a waste of her time, and she didn't even receive any credits for having to come back to this stinking hellhole. She was a little out of pocket and a lot out of sorts, her fingers itching to draw her disruptor on the cheap sonofawhore who had summoned her and then tried to force her into taking a job for less than a quarter of her usual rate.

Several days wasted, money down the drain, and now she had to find a way off this piece of druk planet. Perfect. Just perfect. Heading furiously around the corner towards the elevators, Auren almost ran slap bang into a man with a hood covering his face, a mask over his nose and mouth. "Hey, watch where you're going," she called, throwing her hands up in the air. "What are you? Skroggin' blind?"

"Hey, watch where you're going," she called, throwing her hands up in the air. "What are you? Skroggin' blind?"

"Technically." Dantes looked up, exposing his non-existent eye sockets. "My apologies. My mind was wandering." Dantes dusted her shoulder, a finger sweeping lightly against her skin for a split second. It would have been almost unnoticeable, or a shock akin to static at the worse. In that short contact, Dantes sent a psychic probe into this woman's mind. The Force probe moved through her consciousness, tapping certain spots for weaknesses. Dantes had a specialty in invading minds, but this was not a invasion, it was a light sweep for information. The woman's willpower would play a big role in how many surface thoughts he could gather.

Auren cocked her head, a light smirk on her lips, as the man revealed himself to be, effectively, blind. Of course, he was Miralukan, and could "see" using the Force, but still. A crass comment from her. "I guess we're both at fault, I was just lookin' to get out of this skroggin' place." Despite the attempt at the apology, her voice was irritated, and it couldn't be any more obvious that the blonde woman just wanted to get as far away from Nal Hutta as possible.

Shame she didn't have a ship of her own yet, and would have to seek passage with another.

She jumped back, almost as though shocked, as the man touched her shoulder lightly. "Hey, I'm not for sale," she spat, barely suppressing an amused chuckle. "Next corridor on the right if you're lookin' for that sorta thing." What Dantes would have gleaned from Auren's mind was a general sense of annoyance and stubbornness, the fact that the woman most definitely marched to her own beat, and wasn't about to let anyone take advantage of her, not without a fight.

Dantes chuckled. He waved a hand in front of her face, "Be at peace." He sent a wave of calm of this woman. She was too wound up, it was pestering him. Dantes looked over her. She seemed useful, maybe not a future General, but surely she could help him with something.

"So what is a lady such as yourself doing in this part of town? It can be... Dangerous."

He sent a probe further down into her mind, in an attempt to get her secrets to flow. He gleaned information from her mind, such as layouts of the surrounding area. Soon, if the calming wave had taken hold, he would be able to peak at all but her deepest, darkest secrets.

Auren frowned, blinking once. The gesture that the Miralukan used was one she had seen frequently used by the Jedi. She knew what it was used for, too, but was too late to prevent the full effects of the mind trick, and inwardly cursed herself. She'd not been floating through the galaxy for fifteen years without learning a trick or two, and now she knew what she was dealing with, it would be easier to make sure that this little snake didn't get any further into her head.

So, while she felt mildly calmer, she was still extremely pissed off, and had no time for someone who wanted to dick around with her. "First, I ain't no lady," she replied, her voice as cold as ice. "Second, I had business down here, though what business that is of yours, I have no skroggin' idea."

Auren's brown eyes glittered dangerously. If he had tried the mind trick on her moods, who knew what else he was trying to do inside her head? Stubborn to the last, she ensured that her shifting, erratic mood would prevent anything truly useful from being ripped from her mind without her express permission. Casually, her hand slipped to her hip, within easy reach of a slugthrower that was visible on her belt. "You lookin' for somethin'?"
